Autosufficienza is a place where humanity and nature unite, inspiring those seeking a healthy life in harmony with the environment. A dream where an applied ecology center, organic farm, organic agritourism, eco-campsite, and Linfa retreat—the holistic health retreat center—coexist. From the natural swimming pool to the sauna and zero-kilometer vegetarian cuisine, every experience here invites you to rediscover life’s authentic rhythm.
Every space at Autosufficienza tells a different story of living in balance with nature.
The structures are built using bioarchitecture, with natural and low environmental impact materials; energy, hot water, and food are self-produced, while the fields, once abandoned, are now an eden of life and biodiversity.
Here hospitality is simple and authentic: rooms, apartments, and pitches immersed in greenery, halls dedicated to group activities, and healthy, organic, vegetarian cuisine that nourishes body, mind, and spirit.
Fasting, breathwork, digital detox, silence, self-production… but also themed dinners, Autosufficienza pizza, zero-kilometer Romagna lunches, and much more.

Grazie a tutti

Not yet. Autosufficienza is now an agricultural limited liability company and benefit corporation, dedicated to agritourism, hospitality and dining activities, as well as offering courses and retreats focused on holistic health.
In the coming years, the development of a residential center is planned, to provide a stable home for those who share our vision of life in harmony with nature.
Currently, a small community of residents lives here, many of whom actively collaborate in the center’s activities, contributing daily to the growth of the project.
In 1987, Giorgio Gustavo Rosso and Ivana Iovino joined forces to create Macro Edizioni, a publishing house that has become a cornerstone in the landscape of alternative culture and publishing, ecology, and wellness—transforming the lifestyle of hundreds of thousands of families and making Italy a pioneer in these fields.
In 2002, the family decided to launch a new project, Macrolibrarsi: an extensive catalog of books and products designed to help people apply a lifestyle based on the wellbeing of body, mind, and spirit in their daily lives.
Since 2002, Macrolibrarsi has been Italy’s largest ethical e-commerce platform, dedicated to the wellbeing of body, mind, and spirit. In 2013, a physical store opened in Cesena, at via Emilia Ponente 1705, welcoming visitors into a 250-square-meter space entirely devoted to wellness. Today, the children Angelo Francesco Rosso, Wahleeah Reimann, and Gabriele Rosso lead the company.
In 2009, Autosufficienza was born—a paradise of biodiversity and beauty, grown from abandoned land and ruins, where the cultural vision championed by Macro Edizioni and Macrolibrarsi over the past four decades became reality: applied ecology, natural farming, healthy nutrition, green building, and holistic wellness.
In 2025, Linfa retreat was launched: Autosufficienza’s project dedicated to holistic health, offering courses and retreats focused on the wellbeing of body, mind, and spirit.
Autosufficienza is a Benefit Corporation: this means that our work doesn’t just focus on economic results, but also on creating social, human, and ecological value.
We are a culture and community-oriented company, committed to promoting well-being and sustainability in everything we do.

At the moment, it is not possible to live permanently at Autosufficienza.
The project is still in development and we do not currently have residential spaces dedicated to new residents.
However, we are happy that more and more people wish to share this dream: over time, our intention is to create a residential center where people can live in harmony with nature and with others.
No, we’re not totally self-sufficient — and we don’t even want to be.
We believe that total self-sufficiency is a utopia, and that relationships, collaboration and sharing are at the heart of being human.
Our commitment is to strive toward self-sufficiency, seeking ways to reduce dependence on a system dominated by a few large multinationals and reclaim the production cycles that shape our daily lives.
On this page we share the main aspects that make Autosufficienza a sustainable place, where care for the Earth, for people and for the future intertwine every day.
